The Priolo´s Environmental Center is an educational and visitors center managed by the Portuguese Society for the Study of Bird (SPEA) in partnership with the Regional Secretariat of Environment and the Sea (SRAM) and the Regional Directorate for Forestall Resources (DRRF), in the following of the LIFE-Priolo Project LIFE-Priolo. Its main mission is to contribute for the general understanding of the Priolo and its habitat, Azorean Laurel Forest, and to their conservation. Priolo is one of the most threatened birds in Europe, being only present in the eastern part of São Miguel Island in the Azores.
