Imagine a place where you can explore a variety of scientific topics, where you can find answers to questions on topics ranging from biology to physics, where you can learn about new applications of technology, and where you can experiment in real labs. Expolab, in Lagoa City, in S. Miguel Island, is this place.
A place of scientific dissemination, where science is approached appealingly and where a team of enthusiasts continually looks for new ways to communicate science, always in a simple and fun way. Consisting of three laboratories, two showrooms, an interactive module room and several multipurpose spaces, Expolab is a center where, throughout the year, various activities take place, such as exhibitions, workshops, lectures, laboratory experiments, games and workshops for all ages.
Expolab, under the responsibility of the Afonso Chaves Society, is a center for scientific dissemination funded by the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Secretariat of Education, Science and Culture, whose mission is to promote scientific culture and the experimental teaching of sciences.
