The Pineapple Culture Interpretation Centre (CICA), in the historic centre of Fajã de Baixo, Ponta Delgada, introduces visitors to the history and traditions of pineapple growing on São Miguel.
The permanent exhibition explores the stages of the production cycle, the development of cultivation techniques and the importance of this activity to the local economy, including historical figures and its connection to gastronomy.
The centre offers guided tours, audio guides, film/documentary screenings and a documentation section, with services available in Portuguese and English.
