Pedra Furada da Serra da Ribeirinha crosses an agricultural landscape shaped by water, stone and scattered settlement. From the Ethnographic Centre, the circuit passes through the parish and by former water points including A Fonte and Poça de Adão. The climb opens views over Angra, the south coast and several volcanic landforms, while walls, tracks and fields reveal the organisation of the rural hillside.
Seven groups of rocks form the interpretive focus of the walk. Among them are basins, cutting marks and Pedra Furada, features that reward close observation of the ground. A Second World War lookout adds a more recent historical reference before the return among houses and viewpoints. The route highlights small details that can easily be missed: springs, worked surfaces and distinctive outcrops. Together they show how the community used available resources and adapted to an exposed slope above Angra Bay.
Views towards Monte Brasil and the island’s major volcanic landforms place these small features within the wider geography of Terceira. The circuit therefore alternates a panoramic scale with close inspection of springs, basins and worked stone, making careful observation rather than dramatic altitude the principal character of the walk.
