The Boca do Inferno Viewpoint is located in the parish of Sete Cidades, municipality of Ponta Delgada. This viewpoint is located within the space of the Protected Landscape Zone of Sete Cidades and has one of the most amazing landscapes of the island of São Miguel, a fact that comes from the altitude (about 1000 meters) at the top of an elevation above the Caldeira das Sete Cidades.
From there you can see the Canário Lagoon, the Sete Cidades Lagoon, the Rasa Lagoon and part of the Sete Cidades Village as well as part of the Devassa Mountain Range. This viewpoint is surrounded by a wild and natural landscape where the characteristic endemisms of Macaronesian forests are a constant.
