Ophelia-s, a dance performance by Cie Mossoux-Bonté, takes place on 7 November 2026 at 9:30 pm in the Main Hall of Teatro Micaelense in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel.
The work imagines a different fate for Ophelia, Shakespeare’s character associated with death by drowning. Four performers explore that possibility through movement, with water appearing both on stage and on screen. The performance examines the portrayal of Ophelia as a victim and an object of desire.
Nicole Mossoux created and choreographed the work and directs it in collaboration with Patrick Bonté. The performers are Anne-Cécile Chane-Tune, Colline Libon, Frauke Mariën and Shantala Pèpe. Thomas Turine composed the original music, and the presentation is partnered with POP – Festival das Artes e Ofícios do Espetáculo.
For São Miguel residents and visitors, the performance brings contemporary dance to Ponta Delgada’s cultural programme. It is rated for ages 14 and over, and the advertised ticket price is €10.
